Hulking on the outskirts of Lancaster Pa. the Field of Screams is three Halloween-y attractions rolled into one: A Haunted Hayride Den of Darkness and Frightmare Asylum. There's also an entertainment area with magic tricks and live music. There are ghouls galore - some with circular saws others waiting to pop out from where you least expect them. It's not for the faint of heart. The plan: The Frightmare Asylum is a four-story house with lingering evil spirits and the Den of Darkness has three floors of evil butchers and other ghosts. Each of Field of Screams' three attractions takes about 20 minutes so budget at least an hour if you want to get the full experience. Organizers hesitate to recommend it for children younger than 10 or pregnant women. Even with the hotter-than-normal weather this fall it still gets cold at night so be sure to wear a few layers. And since Field of Screams inhabits a farm (and fake blood abounds) dress down - don't wear snappy duds.
