This exhibition celebrates one of the strengths of the BMA’s collection: contemporary drawings that combine an interest in pure, refined geometric form with a desire to use materials expressively. Anchoring the exhibition are four rare drawings by Eva Hesse, an artist associated with the Post-Minimalists, a term identifying artists of the 1960s and 70s who replaced the rigorous, industrially fabricated sculptural shapes associated with Minimalist artists like Donald Judd and Dan Flavin.
