Wisp Resort in Western Maryland offers 32 trails spread over 132 acres with a vertical drop of 700 feet. The resort is a winter adventure wonderland offering snow tubing ice skating mountain coaster guided snowmobile tours snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Highlights include the 10-trail terrain expansion known as North Camp and the Mid-Atlantic's only Mountain Coaster -- a combination of an Alpine slide and a rollercoaster.
A one-day weekend lift ticket is $59 for adults and $39 for juniors (12 and under). Mountain Coaster cost is $10 for a single rider and $15 for a double.
Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays and Mondays and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday through March 14. Spring season: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
