There was a time when every neighborhood had a local pharmacy with a lunch counter. Most of those places went the way of full-service gas stations and car hops but Fields Pharmacy in Pikesville still has its cafe. So after you pick up the daily paper and some pantyhose park yourself on one of the swiveling chrome stools at the formica counter and order yourself a milkshake or ice cream soda.
