This event occurred in the past.
The Naval Academy Band’s Riptide Jazz Ensemble will be performing at Susan G. Campbell Park at the Annapolis City Dock on Tuesday, July 14 at 7:30 p.m. The United States Naval Academy Band, “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest,” has been providing music for the Brigade of Midshipmen and surrounding community since 1852. Located at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, this premier military band offers world-class ensembles which perform a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to contemporary. Riptide is the Naval Academy Band's chamber jazz ensemble, wielding the ensemble power and textural palette of a big band but with the transparency of a smaller group. Led by bassist Senior Chief Musician James Fowler, the Riptide Jazz Ensemble performs a variety of music for nine players, featuring them not only as an ensemble but also as soloist improvisors. Naval Academy Band concerts are free and open to the public with no tickets required. Susan B. Campbell Park is located at 1 Dock Street in Annapolis, MD.
