Recital and Evensong featuring Charm City Baroque performing a program entitled Angels and Shepherds: Sacred and Secular Music of France and England. This free program set in the beautiful sanctuary of St. David’s Church in Roland Park includes the virtuosic violin writing of Jean-Marie Leclair, Psalm settings by Mondonville, and a tongue-in-cheek cantata, The Lover’s Recantation, by Thomas Arne, featuring The 2015-2016 St. David’s Music Series opens with a Recital and Evensong featuring Charm City Baroque performing a program entitled Angels and Shepherds: Sacred and Secular Music of France and England. This free program includes the virtuosic violin writing of Jean-Marie Leclair, Psalm settings by Mondonville, and a tongue-in-cheek cantata, The Lover’s Recantation, by Thomas Arne, featuring soprano Kerry Holahan. The service of Evensong immediately follows, led by the Choir of St. David’s.
