The national art project called the Monument Quilt will blanket two blocks of North Avenue between Charles and Howard Street with more than 1,000 stories from survivors of rape and abuse. Written, stitched and painted onto red fabric, these stories will come together in the middle of Baltimore City to create and demand public healing space for survivors. Having toured 22 U.S. cities, the quilt is building a new culture where survivors are publicly supported, not shamed.
