The Art Bytes Hackathon brings together people from the tech and art communities in a few days of creativity and innovation. Artists and hackers, with support lent by museum staff, develop projects that will add to the Walters Art Museum experience. Last year, projects developed were Frame, a web app for mobile phones that gave context to art in the museum, and API, or application programming interface, which helped programs communicate with each other. The judges (for the $5,000 cash prize) will be Mario Armstrong, Greg Cangialosi, Jeannie Howe, Sid Meier, Sheri Parks, Murray Taylor, and Deb Tillett.
