In the fall of 1814, thousands of people came together on Hampstead Hill to defend Baltimore and the nation from a British attack. Today, the former fortifications are located within Patterson Park and topped by the charming Patterson Park Pagoda. After a short climb of the Pagoda’s winding iron stairs, you’ll see an unparalleled view and hear the story of Hampstead Hill and War of 1812. This short tour explores Patterson Park’s rich history from the early 1800s up through the present day.
