Otherworld, a contemporary jazz group, will present their long-awaited debut concert to celebrate the release of their first recording. The event will be the concert version of the new album, which has nine tracks of original compositions by all of the members. Otherworld is pianist Jeffrey Chappell, guitarist Jake Kohlhas, bassist Chris Taylor, and percussionist Jake Marinari. Chappell is Director of Jazz Studies at Goucher College, and Kohlhas, Taylor, and Marinari are alumni of the college. Otherworld blends jazz, classical, and Middle Eastern influences, played on a mix of acoustic and electric instruments, with an emphasis on improvisation. Their unique sound appeals to a wide range of audiences.
