Pre-conference Labor History Walking Tour: go on a walking tour of downtown Baltimore led by the Hon. Thomas Ward (retired judge), Luis Larin (leadership organizer for the Baltimore-based United Workers), and Dr. Lenneal Henderson (assistant dean and senior fellow at the William Donald Schaefer Center for Public Policy at the University of Baltimore). Meet at 8:00 A.M. at the entrance to the University of Md. Francis King Carey School of Law. Rain or shine. Keynote Speaker: hear Traci Yoder, NLG Senior Researcher and National Student Organizer, speak about the history of the National Lawyers Guild and radical approaches to law school education. Conference Workshops: learn about immigration rights, fracking, paid sick leave for workers, police brutality, civil right to counsel, legal observing, overturning convictions based on faulty jury instructions, stop & frisk developments, and right to counsel at bail hearings. Food: enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and full lunch Happy Hour: join us after the Conference at a local pub near Baltimore’s spectacular Inner Harbor.
