The a capella group Shades of Yale will celebrate the history and roots of African music with a free performance at Beth Am Synagogue in Reservoir Hill. Music of the African Diaspora portrays the depth and complexity of the black experience, drawing on the oral tradition of blacks in America. The group will perform several styles of music, including R&B, pop, hip-hop, gospel, soul, jazz and funk. This event is free and open to the public.
