Green Spring Tennis and Educational Foundation (GSTEF) is hosting a free day of tennis clinics for the Baltimore area. The Miss Rose Tennis Day is in memory of Rose Wieczorek, the deceased mother of GSTEF founder Janet Paulsen. GSTEF is very proud of the young women who have come together to create this day of free tennis. The Foundation’s Girls’ Focus Group consists of female junior players ages 13-16. They are teaming up with the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) girls’ nationally ranked tennis team. The JHU players help to mentor the girls in the Focus Group. These young ladies have organized a fun filled day of tennis. Certified tennis pros from Green Spring Tennis Club (GSRC) will be present to facilitate tennis games and clinics for all ages. For the younger juniors there will be USTA 10-And-Under tennis and they can meet the GSRC mascots Quicko and Quicka. Face-painting will be offered. Older juniors and adults can get a fun and healthy cardio tennis workout! There will be racquets to borrow or bring your own, and make sure to wear your sneakers. An ice cream truck on site will provide free ice cream. There will also be other delectable goodies like cookies and lemonade and great giveaways for some lucky participants. In case of rain, the event will be held at Green Spring Racquet Club, 10803 Falls Road, Lutherville, Maryland 21093.
