At twenty-six years old, lyric soprano Mary Claire E. Curran has performed as a solo artist at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Broadway’s Symphony Space and L.A.’s Marina Stage at the California Plaza. Ms. Curran possesses a Master’s of Music from University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, as well as an undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). Her voice has led her to travel the world in programs such as Graz, Austria at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS), Italy with Operafestival di Roma, Salzburg at University of Miami’s voice program and Los Angeles as a Young Artist at SongFest. An actress at heart, Ms. Curran is comfortable on stage and on the screen. She has had featured speaking roles in national Comcast Commercials and was an extra on the long running series, One Tree Hill. Ms. Curran’s voice possesses such versatility that she can sing musical theatre, opera and oratorio. While in residence at UNCW, she won the prestigious Richard R. Deas Student Concerto Competition, performing “Donde lieta” from Puccini’s La Bohème with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. Before transitioning to soprano repertoire, Ms. Curran’s appearances included “Hansel” in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, “With One Look” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard with the Wilmington Symphony, and was a mezzo-soprano soloist for numerous oratorio concerts.
