Join Baltimore’s Center Stage cast for selected readings of the play Jazz, before its closing day at Center Stage on June 25. The reading will be followed by a talk with director Kwame Kwei-Armah and the cast. Jazz, based on Toni Morrison’s exhilarating novel, tells the tale of Joe and Violet’s move from the Virginia countryside to Harlem at the turn of the century. The peeling back of layers and alternating perspectives ultimately expose sympathetic characters, who reveal their own rhythms.
