The Beefsteak originated among the New York City working class in the mid-nineteenth century as a social gathering for men. Today, the Beefsteak concept is being introduced introduced to the market as a way to raise money in a new and exciting manner but with a retro feel. The event, to benefit Family and Children's Services, will include music, entertainment, an assortment of microbrews, small craft bourbons and wine in addition to beef (of course), seafood, vegetarian dishes and much more.
