This exhibition highlights the work of Maryland based emerging artist Malandela Zulu. Zulu is a printmaker, painter, photographer and ceramic artist. Heavily inspired by the histories and cultures of Africa, particularly the spiritual traditions of the Akan people of Ghana, the artist incorporates an African diasporic vision into his works. He defines his artistic practice as a means of accessing humanity's spiritual nature for the purpose of physical and spiritual healing. "Art is spirit made flesh," he says, and "each piece speaks to someone’s spirit."
