Join award-winning illustrator Shadra Strickland for story time of the book Bird, on September 24th at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. A drawing workshop with the artist follows. Children will illustrate their own personal stories after listening to this tale about a young boy facing family struggles. This event is presented in celebration of the Grand Opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. Participants will receive a free commemorative poster.
