Join illustrator Shadra Strickland for a reading of her children’s book Bird followed by a drawing workshop. Children will illustrate their own personal stories after listening to this tale about a young boy facing family struggles. The book is available for purchase in the museum shop. This event is presented in celebration of the Grand Opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
