Marin Alsop, conductor The radio series Hidden World of Girls by NPR’s Kitchen Sisters explores the diverse lives of girls and the women they become—stories of coming of age, rituals and rites of passage, secret identities—women who crossed a line, blazed a trail, changed the tide. The musical adaptation by Laura Karpman and other leading female composers brings those stories to the concert hall in a dramatic multimedia experience.
