Joan Miller, a cancer survivor and now a grief counselor, and her husband, Ken Miller, an oncologist and Joan's caregiver during her illness, team up to talk about the cancer experience from their perspective. In sharing their story, they will address the difficult emotions that so often accompany a diagnosis of cancer, and will offer insights about ways others in similar situations may be able to deal with their own challenges. Joan hopes to help survivors shift the focus from “going through” to “growing through” their cancer journey. Then, Joan will sign her recently published book, Healing Grief: A Story of Survivorship. (Proceeds of the sale of her book will go to HopeWell Cancer Support.) RSVP.
