In our annual Maryland Emancipation program Prof. M. Nzadi Keita of Ursinus University will share her new book of poetry Brief Evidence of Heaven: Poems from the Life of Anna Murray Douglass. Anna Murray was the wife of Frederick Douglass. Dr. Keita will be joined by Dr. Karsonya Whitehead of Loyola University who will share her new book, The Emancipation Proclamation: Race Relations on the Eve of Reconstruction.
