The St. David's First Friday series continues with a concert featuring the music of Michael Hersch, performed by ‘cellist Lavena Johanson. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, Ms. Johanson has performed with as a soloist with the Saratoga Orchestra. In this concert, Ms. Johanson performs both of Michael Hersch's devilish 'cello sonatas. Hailed as a “natural musical genius who continues to surpass himself,” Hersch is identified as “one of the most important composers of his generation."
