The slave narratives from the Federal Writers' Project 1936-1938 offer a rich body of material for historical research. Join visiting scholar and fellow Dr. Ichile who will examine how to use the WPA slave narratives to uncover African American cultural traditions and genealogy information on enslaved families. This annual spring lecture is co-sponsored with the Baltimore chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society.
