Lighting the menorah, eating Chinese food on Christmas, and the Charm City Klezmer Holiday Dance Party - all three of these holiday time activities are beloved by Jews in Baltimore. Led by husband and wife team Judith Geller and Michael Raitzyk, along with their young kids and a powerful stable of Baltimore musicians, Charm City Klezmer warmly host this lovely, authentic Creative Alliance tradition of not-so-traditional klezmer music with roots in Jewish East European villages. The band is kicking and the dance floor is open. This year, Judith will instruct and lead Yiddish dances.
