An exciting program devoted to the great violinist-composers of the 17th century. Starting in northern Italy with the pioneering early violinists, we then travel north of the Alps for the elaborate violin wizardry of Walther, Schmelzer, and Biber. In honor of the Lenten season, the concert will feature Biber's sonata depicting Jesus' carrying the cross to Calvary - from the mystical "Rosary Sonatas." Concert is free of charge but donations will be gratefully accepted (suggested donation $10).
