Baltimore, MD July 2015 - BMoreFit will host Baltimore’s first ever ‘DanceWalk’ in collaboration with Artscape 2015 on Saturday, July 18. The event encourages friends and family to get active and dance the “musical mile,” as they help raise money to fund the not-for-profit organization, BMoreFit. The groovy initiative invites participants of all ages to, “Pop and Lock, Boogie, Salsa, and JAM,” with prizes, music, t-shirts, dancing, and fun, for a registration fee of $20/person. Dance Walk will take place within Artscape, America’s largest free arts festival, on Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the neighborhoods of Bolton Hill, Mt. Royal, and Charles Street. This event is intended to help perpetuate BMoreFit’s goal to reintroduce a daily regimen of fitness and physical activity into the lives of underserved students within Baltimore city public elementary schools. Founded in 2009, the organization maintains a mission of improving the health and academic performance of school-aged children, having served approximately 2,000 school students in the 2014-2015 academic year. Singer/ Dancer Dimitri Reeves will be leading the walk. He has received enormous publicity throughout the recent protests in Baltimore for his desire to spread a message of hope and peace by performing in the streets.
