Renown filmmaker Barbara Hammer will present her latest film, "Welcome to This House," a feature documentary about the homes and loves of closeted American poet Elizabeth Bishop (1911-1979). Hammer filmed in Bishop’s ‘best loved homes’ in the U.S., Canada, & Brazil believing that buildings/landscapes bear cultural memories. Interviews with poets, friends, & scholars provide “missing documents” of numerous female lovers. Kathleen Chalfant performs the poetry. Joan La Barbara creates the music.
