World class Irish traditional musicians and dancers from around the U.S., Canada, and Ireland, will be gathering in Baltimore to teach and perform at the fourth annual Baltimore Irish Trad Fest which will be held April 10th to April 12th, 2015 at several venues around Baltimore. This annual music and dance festival is directed by nationally recognized Irish flute player and founder of the Baltimore Irish Arts Center, Laura Byrne. Highlights include a Friday evening Irish Music Masters Concert at the Creative Alliance, Saturday music and dance workshops for all ages and levels, music sessions all weekend long and two ceili (kay’-lee) dances. Star performers and instructors include fiddlers James Kelly and Patrick Ourceau [or'-so]; flute player Kevin Crawford; accordionist Billy McComiskey; tin-whistle player Kathleen Conneely, and many more. Venues throughout the city of Baltimore will be participating in this exciting event, including the Creative Alliance in Highlandtown, St. Michael the Archangel School in Overlea, Liam Flynn’s Ale House in Station North, the James Joyce Irish Pub in Harbor East, Ryan’s Daughter Irish Pub in Belvedere Square, and the Emerald Isle Club. For one weekend this April, every corner of the city of Baltimore will reverberate with the wonderful sounds of Irish music and dance.
