More than 40 of Baltimore’s most generous restaurants and cultural venues are working together to support dozens of nonprofits that serve Baltimore in a city-wide fundraising event called Baltimore Eats for Good set to launch July 28th. Each participating restaurant or venue contributes an exclusive deal to the Campaign. These deals, expected to be worth $500 or more, are bundled into custom digital deal books that each participating nonprofit can sell to its social network of donors, friends and supporters via email and social media on Launch Day. Digital deal books will sell for $19.95. Nonprofits can use proceeds from sales to help fund operations and special programs. Consumers redeem deal vouchers and enjoy their favorite restaurants. “Our goal is to raise $1 million for nonprofits that serve Baltimore in a single day!” says Justin Kersey, Baltimore Eats for Good’s Chief Eats Organizer. “McCormick & Schmick's and M&S Grill are both excited to be part of Baltimore Eats for Good. It's a great idea to help nonprofits in Baltimore!” says sales manager, Dana Twardowski. Some of Baltimore’s most generous restaurants offering deals include: Warehouse 518, Joe Squared pizza, Luckie’s Tavern, Mother’s Federal Hill Grill, Pizza Hut, Dick’s Last Resort and many more. Participating nonprofits include WYPR, the Baltimore Humane Society, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters as well as smaller groups like Baltimore Teacher Supply Swap, which helps teachers provide school supplies to students in need. “Participating in Baltimore Eats for Good is a no-brainer,” says Deb Silcox, Business Partnership liaison for Baltimore’s public schools, “Nonprofit can raise money, offer their friends awesome deals and help Baltimore’s restaurants recover too. Everyone wins. It’s just what Baltimore needs.”
