Baltimore Concert Opera presents its first American opera, Susannah, filled with the Appalachian-inspired melodies of Carlisle Floyd. Set in 1950s Tennessee, the opera centers on 18-year-old Susannah who faces hostility from the women in her church community for her beauty - and the attention she receives from their husbands. Singers, piano and professional chorus with English text projected overhead, all within the Engineers Club ballroom. Also, a free lecture 30 minutes before each concert.
