This talk poses a question around perspective: how do cultural inclusion and racial justice correspond with Euro-centric holidays? The Baltimore Racial Justice Action group presents the ideas of our holidays, Columbus Day, Presidents Day, Thanksgiving, and others, and discusses the other side that no one likes to talk about: President's Day celebrates presidents who owned slaves, Columbus Day and Thanksgiving ignores the slaughter of the Native Americans. How do we go about celebrating these days with all of the racial injustice? The panel discussion will answer these questions and many more.
