Who says art and agriculture do not mix? Join Baltimore County Arts Guild and Maryland Agricultural Resource Council in celebration of creativity and community for the second annual Art-AGstravaganza, Saturday, October 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free, open to the public, and sponsored by Northwest Financial Services. It takes place at the Baltimore County Agriculture Center (1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, MD). Enjoy a juried art show and sale featuring hand-crafted pieces from artists and artisans, live music by Hop’t, Sons of Riley and Midway Fair, alongside beer, wine and delicious fare from an array of local food trucks. This year's fun expands with a Chalk Art Festival. The fee to participate is $10 per spot. Participants will receive pastel chalk and a designated place to create agriculturally-themed pieces during the festival. Photos & drawings are provided for inspiration. Area businesses and Baltimore County and City Public schools may work as teams, and enter their designs into the festival competition for prizes. Art assistance is available from professional chalk artists for school and business teams. Cash prizes are awarded, and include 1st place, $500; 2nd place, $250; and 3rd place, $125. Art-AGstravaganza works to connect art, agriculture and community in meaningful ways, and is a partnership between Baltimore County Arts Guild, Maryland Agricultural Resource Council and Mural Masters, Inc. The event is sponsored by Northwest Financial Services.
