Chesapeake Shakespeare Company presents Maxwell Anderson's riveting play about an historic scandal: King Henry VIII's pursuit of bewitching, young Anne Boleyn. Written in 1948, the play is lyrical, bold, and frank as it expresses Anne's point of view of the affair; though today the themes of adultery and illegitimacy are hardly shocking. We'll feature CSC Resident Acting Company members Lizzi Albert at Anne, and Ron Heneghan as Henry VIII. Backstage, we'll highlight women in the theatre trades. Oct 21-Nov 13.
